Importance of gomukhasana | Benefits of gomukhasana

Gomukhasana is one of the important seated postures mentioned in the Yoga Shastra. It is considered as an asana in the category of hatha yoga. It is made up of two Sanskrit words cow and mouth. The literal meaning of Gau is cow and Mukha means face. That is, while doing this asana, the thigh and calf come in a posture similar to the face of a cow. That's why it is called Gomukhasana.
